The Oakhill Tavern, Beckenham

This pub has over the past year been refitted and has new management. The landlord and staff are very pleasant and have bought back a very homely feel to the place. The food is a bit up and down but again there is a clear effort to provide something different. I would rate this pub 8/10 if it wasn't for the downside that is the clientele. It is White van man and builders paradise. On a recent visit to watch some football, an area right in front of the TV was reserved for what can only be described as 10 or so 20yr old ish lads with a total IQ between them of around 9. They had no interest other than seeing who could swear loudest and were more concerned with shouting at each other than watching the footie. Sadly they are atypical of most the punters and must be a frustration to the landlord's attempts to bring in freindlier punters.
