The Red Lion, Preston
The Red Lion is a pub owned by the villageers of Preston in Hertfordshire and the landlord is the manager. The relativley new manager came from The Windmill at Charlton nr Hitchin. Our party of 5 had a very enjoyable Sunday roast (4 had long horn beef and I had a chicken and leek pie). The menu was all home cooked and everyone thought the meal at approx 8.95 for the main course was excellent value. The beef was cooked well and very tender and the veg selection was good. One or two said the meal could have been hotter but it was not cold. The pub was quite busy so this may have added to this. Puddings were also home made and the apple and pear crumble at 3.95 was particularly good. Would Recommend.
