Old Station Inn, Hallatrow

my family and myself visted the Old Station Inn yesterday (a sunday) It was our first visit on passing it on many occasions. We have twin boys of nine, and on arrival were pleased to see a huge play area for children to run around along with rabbits in a side garden. On entering the bar we ordered 2 fruit shoots for the boys, a lime and soda and pint of larger, but it cost �8.60, thats two pounds each for a fruit shoot !!! I am not tight but thought this very expensive, we got menus including kids menu.. Kids menu said all homemade, with a choice of pizza, sausages, cod chunks, chicken chunks with chops or mash, peas or beans....on the bottom of kids menu it said child at one price or young adult another , with our boys being nine i thought child size as i consider a young adult to be 12 upwards..?? my hubby ordered rack of ribs and i ordered sausage and mash, the prices are a bit more than we would normally pay we eat out a lot as a family and enjoy good foor but it was approx �31 for a child meals and 2 adult meals ! when the kids meals arrived it was three small chunks of cod on each plate bite size to say the least, a few chips and 3/4 plate of peas ! It took less than 5 mins for them to eat it ,my sausages were oily and it floated around the mash, and my husbands ribs were just that ribs not much meat on.. when i mentioned to the young girl collecting the plates she said "well they are child meals, you should have gone for young adult ???? ...and our ribs are always ok, I dont feel there was value for money here the service was ok but such a shame on other points... :(
