Lived and worked in London until 2002 when I moved to Oslo, Norway. Only one decent real ale boozer here, the Oslo Microbrewery. Always on the hunt for a decent pint on return visits to London.

Bohemen Sportspub, Oslo

Ah...Bohemen. Fantastic place for an atmosphere packed cup final - walls lined with memorabilia, multiple screens, knowledgeable fans - not good if you want to sit down, or get a drink in less than 15 minutes; but who cares when it's a crucial game and the place is buzzing!

Oslo Mikrobryggeri, Oslo

Good beer - good atmos. Tendency to serve the beer a little cold and a tad too fizzy (should that be carbonised...?). Please bring back the "bitter" - IPA is tasty but too heavy if you're having more than 2 - doesn't replace the bitter - "steamer" is your next best bet. Toasted sandwiches are only food - expensive even by Oslo standards and not too tasty. Still - there's always nuts.

The Lemon Tree, Covent Garden

Used to be my work local when I lived in London. Always try to visit when I come back. Well run, friendly place - bar staff make you feel welcome. Thai food a knockout - cheap, varied menu and delicious - especially if you've only got time forra quick bite but want something other than pie'n'chips.
The landlady is a star!
