The Jolly Farmer, Cliddesden

A fantstic location, friendly excellent service and the best bit was the food. I have enjoyed eating as this pub for some years and have never had a bad experience. There is nothing better than taking the Sunday papers, ordering lunch and wasting the afternoon with a nice glass of red!

The Crown, Axford

I visited this pub with friends last night. The setting is beautiful and the food was great but the pub is sorely let down by the service as the staff behind the bar seemed almost incompetent. All the serving staff seemed to be under 20, even the one who was apparently the manager. They were more interested in chatting to their friends and drinking than serving the customers.

I was particulary shocked to see the manager drinking what looked like a pint of beer behind the bar. Then when one of our party went to the bar to ask for the bill (we had been waiting for some time for anyone to ask if we wanted coffees!) he asked what he drink the manager was making. He was told by the manager that one of his friends thought it would be a good idea to design a new cocktail called 'Period Pains'!

Not exactly what I expect from a country pub!
