Brecknock Arms, Bells Yew Green

Me and my companion and her two rascals were driving down to lewes to visit friends the other day when we happened on the brecknock arms, after much pester power(from me not the siblings!) we decided to stop for refeshment. We walked in,were welcomed with a smile from the lady behind the bar wonderful smells coming from the kitchen. As we took our seats in the restaurant with our drinks(my pint of harveys best was nectar!) and perused the menu(which contained such treats as barnsley lamb chops steak, smoked haddock fishcakes roast duck plus all the usual treats including scallops.I opted for the scallops to start while my partner had the semi dried tomato and gruyere tart. Both dishes were cooked with skill and precision, and the service was relaxed and informal.Then came the mains, Iopted again for fish, this time the smoked haddock and bacon fishcakes with a simple sald and salsa, my partner for the barnsley chop served with champ potatoes fresh asparagusand the most delectable gravy. The chop was stunning she said and my fishcakes were to die for. Also the kids ate well with thier ham egg and chips. All in all one of the best discoveries we have found.
