The Green Dragon, Croydon
Awesome boozer. My favorite hang when visiting Croydon or perhaps in the whole south of London.
The GD is a truly great "indie" pub experience of the kind a Yank like me can't get in the States.
The beer selection is killer. Love the Brewster's Decadence and DS Hophead.
The food is fair but hey, it's pub food. It serves it's purpose well.
Staff is friendly and attentive. Prices are very reasonable.
It's a youngish, hip clientele mixed with a few 30 and 40 somethings such as myself.
I was recently there on a "band" night. The band sucked ass but I imagine the room is slamming up there during good shows or on say, "club" nights. I recommend the Green Dragon to anyone who digs a low key hang with great folks and great beer.
