I had to meet a colleague near Twickenham station on Thursday night and suggested the Cabbage Patch. Very, very expensive for an average pub with no ambience unless there's a game on at Twickenham. The manager's (Fuller's) policy seems to keep the prices high. So you get few people who for whatever reason are prepared to pay significantly more than other establishments that offer a far better deal with better beer. The Antipodean staff just don't seem to give good customer service - they are more interested in talking among themselves and service for them appears to be a drag. That is of course unless you are an attractive female.

Truly dreadful reception. Popped in for a beer and a quick bite at abot 8pm. Snooty bar staff asked "have you booked a table" and tutted when we said "No" The place was empty for god's sake! The menu was totally unappealing, pretentious and over-priced. We had a beer when perusing the menu and were asked for our order. It was a pity that we stayed to finish our beer. Couldn't wait to get out of the place. Went on to the Fox where we had an excellent meal.
Would not recommend this place to anyone

The Eel Pie, Twickenham
Yes, the pub has gone downhill since Alan & Claire left (must get to the 3 Kings soon). Expensive continental lagers although real ales still available, drinkable and not TOO expensive. Food prices have gone through the roof. I remember having a wonderful proper home cooked Irish Stew there a few years ago - nothing like that on the menu now.
