Balham Bowls Club, Balham

After a recommendation from my usual haunt (O'neill's in Wimbledon - thanks Mark!) I decided to venture forth up to Balham Bowls Club (BBC) slightly nervous and not knowing quite what to expect. My nerves were quickly settled on arrival after being greeted by the delectable Amy, (the apron was mighty fetching). Her expertise and knowledge of the drinks was second to none and despite being full to the rafters she was always on call with the next tipple, (whatever that might be). The "free" sausage roll was a perfect absorber of my particular favourite the 'grolsch' (thanks Amy).

The night was only marred by the toilets, which were abominable.

O'Neills, Wimbledon

Another fantastic night out in this ever reliable chain. Only my second visit to this particular branch and i already feel like one of the boys. The night's most memorable highlight was the effervescent scouse bartender, his charm and wit carried the night along at a gay pace, and he pulled the black stuff like a true pro.
Due to the high concentration of our friends from over the Irish sea living in and around wimbledon there was a definite sense of 'the craic', more so than any other o'neill's branch i have been in and ,dare I say it, most other Irish drinking holes.
With their token Irish bartender, who i beleive was called Pod-rick, (though it was hard to tell through his luscious irish drawl) adding to the charm I look forward to frequenting this establishment in the future, which If I'm not mistaken will be tonight. See you there.
(I'll be in the guinness t-shirt kindly gifted to me by the eccentric welsh landlord, keep up the good work)
