Friendly pub. We cycled up about 10 mins before they shut on Sunday afternoon, but after serving us they said they would leave the side door open so the girls could use the loo. Proper "Northern style" pint of Tetleys too. Another one added to my bicycle pub crawl.....

The White Lion, St Albans

Well done The White Lion, making it in to The 50 Best Gastopubs - in last weekends Independent. Unlike other "gastropubs" its still a great pub to drink in.

The Blacksmiths Arms, St Albans

Always had one of the best pub gardens in Snorbans, shame the pub WAS one of the worst. Big improvement recently. Been a few times including going to their beer festival. Nice range of real ales. had one dodgy pint but was happily exchanged for a fresh one. LOVING the real ale loyalty card. KEEP IT UP!
