The Nightingale, Wanstead

Been using this place for a few weeks but found it very inconsistant for the beer the food and the service.

Had a terrible pint of Speckled Hen and to top that I had a sandwich with stale bread. The particular member of staff that day was miserable and unfriendly and snarled when I mentioned the bread. I felt better when I realised I had been undercharged for the sandwich so justice was done! The untuned radio blaring out rap music and advertising is annoying in the evening and the candles would be a nice touch if they were lit. If anybody can recommend a traditional ale pub round here please let me know as this seems to be the best of a rotton bunch.
