Brickmakers Arms, Crowhurst Lane End

I had lunch in here on Wednesday and was pleasantly surprised by how warm and welcoming the pub was. Unless you know where to look this pub can be hard to find. I remember the pub many years ago when it was run by a German Landlord called Rolf and it has changed a lot since then. It is much brighter but has a cosy feel, very clean. Staff friendly. Good selection of freshly cooked food. I had Salmon fishcakes on a bed of salad and roasted beetroot and they were excellent. Quite a few customers passed good comments about the beer and my house wine was good. The interior dinning area is a number of smaller dining rooms although interlinked does give you a more cosy feel. Worth the trip.

The Old Cage, Lingfield

This is a tradional village pub, friendly, lively and plays an important part in village life. I have visited this pub on many occasions recently quite often going or coming from the racing or Lingfield FC. The food always has a good number of daily specials along with their varied published menu. Good sized portions all freshly cooked and great value. As I drink wine I can't comment on the beer but there seems to be a good selection. The pub is always reasonably busy so quite a lot of others think as I do. A well run pub with god value food
