Visited on a recommendation and was slightly disappointed. Decor is very nice and love the "cricket themed" touches - staff very pleasant - wine ok, have had better. My overall disappointment was the food. I understand for a small location to have a limited menu but the chef could have made more with the specials board... curry on the main menu and on the specials board???? Something to share other than 4 varieties of Nachos would be advantageous - more meat in your homemade chilli - the salsa sauce tasted like it has been bulked out with ketchup and the "one slice" of chopped up toasted bread and oils for 3.00 was abit over priced, no cream or icecream offered with the warm chocolate brownie and a microwaved sponge pudding with custard didnt float my boat . However - the presentation and overall taste of the food was good and it was nice to see a pub chef take pride in his presentation. Top marks for the chutney that accompanies the pate - and your toasted brie muffin is lovely and well worth paying you another visit!

Visited this pub recently and absolutely loved it! Friends over from the Australia wished to visit a "traditional english pub" so I found them one. Located next to a village green it is everything a village pub should be. Nice staff, nice atmosphere and traditional decor. It was a Sunday so I ordered the roast (which was difficult as their menu had so many nice choices not to mention a specials board!) and it was huge and delicious! Well worth 9! Friends ordered Ostrich which I was told was beautiful, finished off with homemade fruit crumble and custard, toffee crunch pie and lemon meringue pie all served with cream and icecream. These guys are not shy when it comes to portions it was like being at home with your Mum. Was encouraged into doing the locals "meat draw" (I didnt win anything!) while listening to a rather funny piano player, classic entertainment! Would definately return!
