The Live and Let Live, Cambridge

I used to really like this pub, but recently it has been taken over by geeks, who seem to want to talk about computer and tap away on their PDAs all evening.

There beer's still great though.

The Kingston Arms, Cambridge

A great pub. No lager, just ales and wine. It's rapidly becoming a victim of its own success however, you'll be lucky to fit in, let alone get a table these days!

My suggestion, get there early and stay there...

The Anchor and Horseshoes, Burpham

The previous reviewer has got it right when he said it's a locals' pub... There are two types here...

If you want to blend in a trip to JD sports is in order, football shirts are good too. There were also lots of terminal alcoholics, most of whom were so drunk they could hardly talk. One emitted some form of noise at us, I think it was an attempt at speach. Another decided he didn't want to sit on a stool and that I should give up my chair, he signalled this by standing (well as best he could) in total silence and staring at me until I asked him what he wanted.

The only upside to this pub is that it's not the Green Man just down the road.
