Started drinking here two years ago after becoming disaffected with the Woodman. No regrets whatsover! Great ales, great food and friendly staff as well. No sky and no music either. Throw in a monthly beer festival with a varying selection af ales and they've got it sussed! Plus they have they're own pubcat.

Popped In as a friend's band was playing. BIG MISTAKE! Sign outside states real cask ales available. This would be the dishwater you served me then proceeded to charge me an arm and a leg for then? Stayed to listen to the band and thought I'd try one of the other two ales you have available, that was even worse and even more expensive. Took a few mouthfuls and left. A soulless dive of a place despite the recent renovations. There's other pubs in the area with a nicer atmosphere and better real ales. £10.00 for a pint of dishwater and wine you wouldn't insult your chips with. Try this place if you dare. Personally I think you'd be better off with four cans of Special brew from your local off licence.
