The Rose and Crown Inn, Slipper Bridge

Last year my good lady and I took it upon ourselves to whet our whistles at this pub......I waited at the bar for almost 10 minutes before catching the barmans eye......I ordered a pint of Timothy Taylors and a Britvic for my squeeze.....and then I was asked if I had ordered my food.......I replied that we just wanted a drink.....whereupon we were both asked to leave!! It was very embarrassing indeed! As we left for the door we were told that "this is an EATING HOUSE!" So, be warned! If you just want a drink,youre not welcome! I shall never return....the foods not much to shout about anyhow......and the portions are a total ripoff! A chum and I were fighting over a single piece of broccoli that was served up on a dish with our meagre slice of steak pie. Get thee to Blacktoft instead....by the river behind Gilberdyke.......stunning ales & good food.
