Been Bar and Restaurant, Leamington Spa
The meal started well, we were shown to our table and asked to order drinks and starters from the all you can eat menu. We ordered two starters (crispy duck with pancakes / chicken satay), the duck arrived within twenty minutes of ordering and was lovely although a very small portion. Although at the time we thought that was fine as we would just order more.
As the waiters cleared the plates we ordered another two starters to follow, another crispy duck with pancakes and chicken Yuk Sung.
We waited for over an hour for the next starter to arrive, we asked the waiters a few times where the food was and each time they disappeared off to check for us but never returned to let us know what was going on. So the next starter (which arrived over an hour after the first) was actually the 4th one we had ordered!... not sure what happened to the 2nd and 3rd but we were starving by this point so were just happy to see some food in front of us. Again the food (chicken yuk sung) was nice but a very small portion, which would have been fine if there wasnt such a long wait in between dishes
As the plates were cleared away we asked the waiter about the other starters we had ordered, and this time were told they were on there way. So we waited and waited after a total of 1 hour and 50 minutes of being there we decided to give up and get a take away from somewhere else on the way home.
As we left the restaurant we were still expected to pay the full all you can eat price of 31.80 for the 2 of us, which is a joke considering we only had 2 very small starters and had to stop off for a takeaway on the way home.
I dont think it is right to call this an all you can eat menu when there is very little food actually available for eating!
