The Rook and Gaskill, York

I've been in this pub several times before and had a decent experience - a good range of beers on tap which can admittedly be a mixed bag but the bar staff are normally good with their recommendations. However, I went in the other night and experienced the distinctly hostile atmosphere which others have mentioned. The landlord completely flew off the handle at a friend who'd absentmindedly torn up a beermat. Fair enough be annoyed, but his overreaction, complete with theatric yelling and swearing, was frankly pathetic.

Will not be going back again.
