Profile information

I've spent a few years in a few places, including Sheffield, Nottingham, Folkestone, Wales ... even Muenchen. On top of that I'm an amateur photographer, so I end up in all sorts of places, taking a chance on whatever is available to relax, have a pint and a bite to eat ... so I've experienced my fair share of pubs both good and bad, in various corners of our fair country and a few others as well!

I'm not a hardened drinker but I love nothing more than good food and a tasty pint of cider to wash it down with. My ideal is a generous ploughmans lunch and a pint of cider with condensation on the outside, while sat outside in the summer sun, alongside a waterway watching the boats gently floating by.

The Greyhound, Corfe Castle

When around and about, it is the done thing to just find a place to eat and take a chance. My friend summed up both our opinions of the food when he commented that there are places in London with awards who couldn't serve up food as nice as this. The atmosphere is friendly, the staff willing to share talk and a selection of drinks that, while not the largest I've seen, are certainl tuned to have something to please all but the most picky. The place certainly has a homely but quirky personality that sits well with me. If there was one thing that irked me, it was that the seating has a lack of leg room in places ... but ... if I'm in the area again, this pub will be top of my list.
