The Barley Mow, Broomhill

having now been to 2 themed evenings at the barley mow i am totally hooked on the food, service & location. burns night was a truly cultural experience, with the star of the show being the haggis, cooked superbly by the very talented new chef andy kelly. the addition of bag pipes and an authentic story teller detailing robbie burns's life made the evening complete. impressed by this i was easily persuaded to make sure my husband took me out for the valentine's menu, accompanied by 4 friends with a mutual love of good food. we were not disappointed! 5 courses, including seabass and a to die for dessert, chocolate fudge brownie, with blueberry ice cream. jim and jacqui, the new management, have helped the barley mow return to being a superb place to eat and drink, with the location speaking for itself! i would recommend the barley mow to anyone wanting a truly enjoyable experience, with friendly staff and innovative food, all cooked on the premises, using local suppliers.
