An utter rip-off: they add a "service charge" to your food bill with no verbal warning first, just very small smallprint that very few people will read.. Pay your staff properly: this is the UK, not the USA and people shouldn't have to rely on tips. And they wouldn't remove this charge when asked. It's not like service was actually good: the staff didn't come over very often, we had to keep calling them.
Food is allegedly upmarket: no, it isn't. Just because you made it yourself, doesn't mean that it's better than M&B or any other chain. It's average at best and anyone with a couple of Home Economics lessons behind them can prepare better food.
Beer was average, but little choice. You would get a better pint in Wetherspoons for half the price. Staff wouldn't know a decent wine if it smacked them in the face. I wouldn't go back if you paid me. I would rate it zero, but BITE's scale only goes down to one.
Oh yes, and the toilets were disgusting.
Yes, it's by the river and the view is OK. But it's far too expensive for what it is. Caveat emptor.

The Carpenters Arms, Cranfield

To the people of Cranfield - use this pub! Nick is greatly missed by the people of Holbeach in Lincolnshire, where he used to run the Red Lion and made it a great pub (it's since gone downhill)! Don't forget to visit Gordon the black lab - possibly the coolest pub dog in England!

Onder de Ooievaar, Amsterdam

Mostly locals pub popular with after-work drinkers, it attracts largely young customers but also extends a warm welcome to tourists. A local pub atmosphere but on the edge of the city centre, ideally situated on a corner with large windows for people-watching.
