The Lorne Bar, Dunoon

Nice friendly pub under new management.Janis is still there but have a new chef as Mr Happy has left to set up his new business.Children are made to feel at home.Janis as is all the staff will not put up with any nonsense from anyone and she will have them out the door if there is any.

The Tontine Inn, Melverley

I had the miss fortune to visit this Inn,on booking a table for two I ordered three course meal my partner being a veggie did not like anything on menu as they do not cater much for veggies but they did have veg lasagne on bar menu so she asked for this.She was informed that this was from the bar menu so she would have to go into the bar for this dish, but as I was ordering three course meal I can remain in the dining room.I protested to management and was told that I can have my meal in the bar with my partner.They only have small tables in the bar and not practicable for eating from also the bar was full with a pool tournament going on and the lads were a bit loud.So we left them to it.Up the road a bit is the Fir Tree Inn where we had a lovely meal and the host could not have been more helpful .
