The Greyhound, Kew Green

Took friends to the Greyhound yesterday for Sunday Lunch after a hasty search for somewhere new to try in Chiswick / Kew area. Will not be returning. Great location and I'm sure well meaning, but the "Greedies" dining concept within The Greyhound (whats wrong with "The Greyhound"????, delivers a characterless space, bland food and very patchy service.
Our Yorks Puddings were properly burnt, which was pointed out to and promptly ignored by the waitress. One of the 2 waitresses who served us was cheerfula d helpful, but the other, perhaps hindered by less than perfect English, came across as efficient but surly and made a couple of inappropriate comments. eg Her: Would you like to order something? Me; Could we order some drinks please (we had just arrived). Her; Yes that why I said would you like to order SOMETHING!
At which point I knew what was likely to follow. Bland roasts (to be fair the Beef looked ok and cooked as ordered but turkey and pork were interchangeable), processed stuffing, overcooked veg and a waitress who would arrived mid conversation and trumpet something or other across the table -efficient but unknowingly rude. A classic case of owners who are just not up to it.
