Rostron Arms, Edenfield

New owners took over in 2008 and really tried to make a go of this place, with a good ale festival in the august bank holiday. They brought in friendly staff and a good choice of tipple, nice, warm and clean place - a non-cliquey le ocal in a small countryside village.

Horse and Jockey, Edenfield

Frequented this pub when I lived in the area 15 years ago, when I go back the same people are still in there. Nothing has changed, same bar staff - never seen a smile yet, same decor and same beer standard... not pleasant! Even worse now is the fact that the pub has a chinese restaurant attached, and the smell of the take away smells does overpower what could/should be a lovely looking village local. I'll visit again in 15 years to see if anything has changed.
