It's 1 o-clock in the morning and I must be mad writing a review of my local when I should be in bed moan moan moan.
OK, it's brilliant, the food's great, the staff's fantastic, the managers are all hewn from the same block and they all care. It's bloody busy, and they don't miss much. I used to be in the trade, and this is one complex operation, but at heart it's a pub. The sign outside says "It's a pub" and I once asked the owner what that meant and he said a load of stuff that sounded like a mission statement and I must have dozed off, 'cos I can't remember any of it. It's a pub, though, and a good one. Look out for the hog-roast in the garden.
