The Willeymoor Lock Tavern, Tushingham

We were walking the final part of the Sandstone Trail yesterday - the most glorious day this year, we came across WILLEYMOOR LOCK TAVERN, a very welcome sight we thought.
The pub was closed and it was between 2 and 3pm. We sat outside on the table and chairs, hoping a welcome face would come out and say they would open for us.

What greeted us was the most rude arrogant Danny De Vito look alike with the worst case of small man syndrome i have ever come across.

He told us it wasnt a picnic area and walkers are not welcome because of their dirty boots. He called us spongers and to move away from his property.

He said he had made a good living for 31 years not serving walkers, we were puzzled - surely if he had made all those walkers welcome, he could have made a more substancial living and wouldnt be cleaning his own tables on the hottest day of the year so far.

This guy was an absolute joke - definitely in the wrong business - he probably missed the circus barge years ago because he was busy jumping up and down at walkers willing to spend good money in his grubby establishment.
