The George and Dragon, Swanscombe

Just reopened after a major renovation by its new owners and it's looking fantastic. Great to have a pub in the area that offers something other than cheap lager. When I visited on Friday night they had a couple of lovely Oakham Ales on, alongside Doom Bar and a couple of Meantime beers - plus three fridges full of bottled beers, which included a couple of brilliant IPAs by The Kernel and some lovely US craft beer. They've also got a few decent lagers. All in all, not exactly the sort of pub you expect to find in the area. Well worth a trip down from London - especially since it's only 2mins walk from Swanscombe station.

Dean Swift, London Bridge

Bloody lovely. Not massive but barman tells me an upstairs area is opening in Jan 2011 after a short closure. Great selection of beers - Redemption's Fellowhouse Porter, Sambrook's Wandle and two Brew Dogs were the pick on my visit. Good atmosphere and free wifi. Whoever did the pub's branding deserves high praise too.

The Dacre Arms, Lee

Just moved into the area and this is my new local. Went there for the first time tonight and was pleased to find it as hospitable as previous entries here had suggested. Lovely little pub. Drank Sharp's Doom Bar and Black Sheep until they kicked us out. Really nice atmosphere. Will be making this a regular stop.
