The Derby Arms, Aughton

Couldnt believe my eyes at the comment about the food and atmosphere . OK they had a few problems with Chefs which pub doesnt, but you must try it again. Its just won Pub Of The Year 2008 for the third time in four years it also has a new Chef who's food is brill.I keep going back because against all odds they still keep prices low . I can't cook at home for what it costs me to eat here. I really do think they've got it right . The out side is all clean and shiny after the refurbishment. Hopefully the Landlady will have her usuall lovely hanging baskets up soon. If you've not been its definately worth a try.

This pub has just won pub of the year 2007 for West Lancs CAMERA and runner up for West Pennine area. It has the most amazing range of beers changing up to 12 times a week. Classical jazz and folk type music on the third monday of the month. Apparantly any one can play so i'm taking my triangle.The food is still good although prices have risen with the increase in gas and electricity.I also know that the pub is about to be refurbished outside so it will look pretty when we drive up. I would like to wish Mike and Jan every success they are doing a great job in difficult times

The Derby Arms, Aughton

This pub has won lots of CAMRA awards. The real ale is amazing and there are usualy between 6 and 9 different ones every week.Mondays can be quiet but with no juke box or fruit machine its a beer junkies heaven. The food is pretty good and amazingly cheap, just isnt served late enough, so as not to upset the drinkers ,so i am told. All in all a great place for a relaxing night out.
