The Botley Hill Farmhouse, Warlingham

Went to this pub to see the Dayglo Pirates, an excellent Jethro Tull tribute band, unfortunately an othewise excellent performance was ruined by a totally in competent sound engineer and inadequate PA. There are some good bands playing there soon but I will avoid it and wait to see them at a more suitable venue. Felt a bit ripped off �8 only to get in but sound was awful.

The Porterhouse, Covent Garden

Have been to this pub many times, listened to some excellent music drunk some very good beer. However I was entertaining 4 Russian friend on Sunday and though I will take them to my favourite London pub for dinner. I had my 15 year old son with me and we were so rudely refused entry to even the front terrace by someone who had no interest in his job and spoke little English that I will never go there again. There are plenty of pubs to choose from in Covent Garden, I would have though they would have liked to keep loyal customers. Not so The Porterhouse. Give it a miss, find a friendly one.
