The Curlew, Bodiam

I cannot agree more with the previous contributor. This place deserves a Michellin Star. The food is adventurous but works superbly (albeit with a tendancy for foam). Produce is top quality. Expect to pay �50 per head. If this place was in London you would see a lot of press on it but down in the country, it's a little local secret.

The Rose and Crown, Burwash

Excellent pub food. New owners took over in 2005 with a reputation for high standards of catering and you will not be dissappointed. Most weekends and Friday evenings, the restuarant is full. Good selection of local produce and innovative combinations. I would probably rate this as the best pub for food in a 10 mile radius (and this includes The White Horse in Hurst Green which is also excellent)
