I recently tried to organise my babies baptism party on a sunday lunchtime at this pub. I could simply not BELIEVE the response I was given on requesting a buffet for x25 when we had x30 adults and x20 kids. After being told it was �10 per head (rip off given the menu, and that you can eat a meal for �5 in there), we we told that children were unwelcome in the bar and would basically have to stay outside, that a buffet for under the amount of people there were wasn't a 'usual scenario' and that we were not welcome in the restaurant part because of locals. The landlord basically acted like he was doing us some kind of favour and was totally put out by our request, rather than receiving an offer of an extra x50 paying guests at his pub! Friends of ours have also had several bad experiences, including being told that children are not to make noise, when there is a clear sign on the door saying 'families welcome'. They really don't deserve repeat business, especially as the food is really not that great either! My advice; go to the Worplesdon place; at least they make you feel wanted!!
