Brilliant pub! Best barmaid in Liverpool. Hubby and I call in on Sundays when we go for lunch and the barmaid always remembers what we drink even if we havent been in for a few weeks. By the way we call it the "deep end" cos the bar reches your chest as you walk in but towards the back of the bar it reaches your waist, bit like walking in a swimming pool! Beers good too

The Plough Inn, Wissett

Family were planning a visit to the village of Wissett - family name. I'd read on the village newsletter online that the pub wanted people to let them know why no one was using the pub. Well maybe I can enlighten them. A group of 8 of us arrived at about 4pm, after a long long journey well ready for a pint to find the pub closed til 6.30. We had phoned the day before we arrived and booked a meal for the evening of our arrival, got to the pub just after 7.30 to be told there was no food cos the electricity was off - and infact the pub would close once the natural light was gone. We ended up travelling into Halesworth to a luvly pub and eating there. The beer wasnt the best but the loo was clean and the bar itself was clean and welcoming - just the staff that werent. What pub doesnt stay open during the day to catch passing trade in season in the countryside?
