The Queens Head, Bradfield

Wow - seems like I went to a different place to the reviewer below! I met up with my friends here on Good Friday - pub was busy with plenty of drinkers and diners and had a great atmosphere. We were put on a lovely round table for 8 of us which meant we could all have a good chat together.

Lots of choice on the menu that all sounded lovely, I finally settled on the pigeon breast, black pudding and bacon starter and skate wing with creamy leeks and crab and prawns for main. Pigeon was wonderfully cooked, and got two massive breasts and plenty of black pudding and bacon with it too. The skate was also delicious, perfectly cooked again and the creamy leeks really complemented the delicate fish. Everyone in the party really enjoyed their food, some of the other dishes we had were roast duck leg, poached salmon salad, homemade fillet burger, rib-eye steak and a massive bowl of mussels which looked great!

There were some amazing looking puddings too but unfortunately I had no room for any more! The sneaky spoonful of homemade crumble I had though was very tasty. I will definitely be back here, service was attentive and food just amazing, no wonder they have won an award from Fullers!
