The Plough and Harrow, Litlington

Highly enjoyable place. Friendly laid-back staff who care about their beer and the quality of their food. I went in on my own whilst walking in the area and found it easy to relax there unlike the pubs in nearby Alfriston. Came back later with other hosellers and was treated like a regular. The food looked fantastic - sadly I'd booked a meal elsewhere so missed out but the other hostellers
ordered and theirs was fab and well hearty - I was so jealous. The torchlight journey back to the YHA was fun too. Go if you want excellent seasonal and local food in interesting dishes - don't go if you like Harvester style or boiled to death veg.
