The Bird in Hand, Mayford

Had a nice meal on a Tuesday night with a group of friends - very quiet, which made a change - we could actually hear each other talk - no waitress service this particular night but the bar lady was a very good hostess. Typical pub food, very good value .My steak was lovely and well the black forest gatty was perfect and good size portions too, all washed down with a couple of bottles of good chardonnay.

The White Hart, Pirbright

Well, I don't think the critics here are harsh enough! Puts village pubs to shame - pull your finger out White Hart and do something about the food and service!! - dreadfull.***********
