The Royal Children, Nottingham

The Royal Children for me had always been wasted, over the past years I have visited this pub I have always left dissapointed with the beer and service.

This has thankfully now all changed, a recent change in landlord has turned this pub round in dramatic fashion. The 10 ale pumps that where once nothing more than ornaments other than 1 or 2 token ales have now been completely overhauled, on our visit the following beers where available.

Thornbridge - Jaipur (5.9%)
Thornbridge - Kipling (5.2%)
Thornbridge - Brother Rabbit (3.7%)
Blue Monkey - 99 red baboons (4.2%)
Blue Monkey - Guerrilla (4.9%)
Caledonian - Deuchars (3.8%)
Theakston - Old Peculier (5.6%)
Oakham - Baja (4.3%)

Prices varied from �1.99 for the Deuchars up to �2.75 for the Jaipur.

After sampling the beer and taking into account the landlord is still 'new' I can see this easily being Nottingham CAMRA pub of the year 2010 if it can keep this pace up.
