The Ramble Inn, Tooting

Great little boozer. Brilliant staff, lively draught. Best pint in London by a country mile. It's just like walking in to a wee pub back yonder. The way all pubs over here should be. Will watch the bhoys in jacks and the dubs in the wheatsheaf but it's in here if you want to feel at home...

The Porterhouse, Covent Garden

Just returned from my first(and only)visit to this 'pub'. It started off well. Fine big pub,busy and most impressive was a barman who took 3 orders at once without asking any of us to repeat,which was the first time i have seen that in the 20 years i have been over here..But the beer!! My god, it is disgusting. Pure slop. Nothing to do with not having brand names there,i have drank local brews all over this country and the planet and i tell you, this was just vile! On top of that,my friend,whos b'day we were celebrating,tried to return a rotten pint in exchange for a bottle of beer or cider. After a drawn out 'discussion'it was replaced with....another pint of muck. I kid you not,it looked and tasted like a medical experiment. All it was missing was a kidney stone. If you are going to to go drinking in the tourist trap, avoid this place like the plauge....mb
