New Inn, Hayes

my 23yr old daughter,her 24yr old boyfriend and i got dressed-up smart and had her birthday lunch at the new inn today.the matre`d/?manager today demanded in no uncertain terms that the boyfriend remove his cap before entering....this is no yobbo-laddie but a respectable,snazzy-dressed professional. we were all a little taken aback. then we waited 45 minutes for our lunch,which was amazingly average,costing �37 before drinks. the spaghetti bolognese was totally without herbs or garlic,offered without a spoon,but a knife and fork! and tasted and looked liked tinned stuff,the only plus being that when i complained to our waitress we were offered one free dessert as compensation. suffice to say,i will never cross their threshold again.
