The Old Ferry Inn, Chaceley

Very disappointed. Had a meal there last night.

Ordered Mussels for starters which cost �4.95 to be presented with 6 mussels, some white bread and not enough butter. Complained to Barman, Chef came out and said they were New Zealand mussels (I assumed they are more expensive than standard mussels?). Pointed out that the menu did not indicate half a dozen NZ mussels. Chef took my mussels away without asking (leaving my guest with to eat her starter on her own) and mumbled to the effect of �What�s wrong with the size of the portion� on her way out her way to the kitchen to a �Local�. I chased her to discuss the issue further to be ignored.

Liver and Onions next for main, to be given lots of poor cooked liver and no onion. Ok, I exaggerate, two small slices in the gravy smaller than a postage stamp. The second slice took me several minutes to locate. I commented to my guest that there were no Onions only to hear the barman say loudly to the locals around the bar �Does he want it for free next�. I confronted the Barman (Who looked like Nigel Mansell) who yet again ignored me.

If I was not with a guest and on my own I would have walked out before the main course. Highly disappointed when all my friends give this place a great review.
