Great atmosphere. Something about this pub makes you want to come back again and again. Everyone in the pub is local but there is not the clique of people you may find in some pubs. On the weekends you get a lot of young people who all went to the same schools etc and have come back from university so the atmosphere is friendly, you tend to always see someone you know. I think it has been this way for a while because you also get big groups of older generations meeting up before dining or going elsewhere, so it has a reputation of a meeting place. It is a right of passage for the modern day if you live in this area.
Very very rarely any trouble in this pub. The landlord has been there since it turned into a Wetherspoons and has built up a good rapour with the customers.
I would definately recommend this pub as one of the best Wetherspoons in the country and i have visited quite a few.
