The Ferry Inn, Horning
Inedible food and poor service from start to finish. When we arrived we asked for a table to seat a family of 8 and were seated in the most smallest of spaces! We asked for a larger table and were told it was reserved. This particular table did not have a reserved sign on it, although others did. By this time it was clear that we were obviously an iconvenience to the waiter and accepted the smaller table. We ordered a mixture of carvery and ala carte meals. The carvery was fine, but the others were in edible and somewhat different to the versions offered in the menu. My meal which was ordered before the other members of my family arrived 20 minutes after everyone else's did and when questioned why this was I was told it was because I ordered ala carte, however other members of my family did so this excuse was inaccurate. When challenged I was told "it doesn't matter what you think". When the food arrived my daughters pizza was burnt and inedible, my hotdog arrived with half the ingredients missing. When asked where the American mustard and Heinz ketchup was as described in the menu we were passed sachets of English mustard and cheaper ketchup alternative. My mother's dish of "hand carved roast ham, chips and fried egg" was actually shop bought packet boiled ham, and extremely undercooked eggs and again was Inedible. My fathers home cooked cottage pie, although homemade originally was microwaved to almost nuclear heat and needed 30 minutes to cool down to eating temperature. We did at the time ask to speak to the manager, who tried to pass off the boiled ham as "horing style" and refused to do anything about it. We did eventually get the child's pizza and ham and eggs refunded, but not before bing made to feel very uncomfortable and leaving with a bitter taste in our mouths, which was probably from the little food we managed to stomach.
