I don't know what all the fuss is about - it's a great pub! You lot who have written bad reviews need to state if you were there for just one evening. It's been my local for 7 years now and yes, I've seen many changes.But it has got better.
I realise that the pub was being used for a long while by a sector of teh public that would swamp the bar to watch 'free' sky sports but not a drink in sight! This I found annoying - it's a buisness after all, so wake up and smell the coffee (available untill 3pm!). Many times I would partake in an after work (yes that's right - I work to pay for my drinks) and couldn't even get a seat to enjoy my beer due to the bar being deluged by non-paying, loud mouthed, ignorant and arragant people who would only use the pub on a sports match. Who needs them anyway? I was delighted when the sports went. As an onlooker, I saw tha abuse the staff had to endure from these free-loaders who couldn't get the free fix of sports any more. Good luck to them, let the government supply them with free sky sports, they seem to get everything else.
The pub has changed, and for the better. It's like a bub used to be. A meeting place to socialise and enjoy friends company and actually hear your own conversation.
