The Mansion, Gipsy Hill

Several months ago I'd have rated this as one of the best pubs I'd ever been too. However, it's recently been taken over and refurbished and now I'm not sure I'll go back. The quirky decor has been replaced by boring browns and beige, and the food - once the only thing that would tempt my "north London" friends south of the rive - is now awful. We went last night and ordered their burgers. Apart from the fact that the portion size is almost half the size it used to be, the burgers were dry, over-spiced, and luke warm. And to top it off, the once friendly staff have been replaced by rather subdued individuals.

I'm really disappointed that our favourite pub is no more.
