Grey Wall Inn, Windermere

This is one of the worst pubs in the Lake District; sloppy service and crap beer. Not clean and I certainly wouldn't take my family there for a meal. Noisy, horrible surroundings, apart from the beer garden, that is if you can find a table that's not full of empty glasses and over flowing ashtrays. Walk past this one.

Cherry Tree Inn, Woodbridge

I visit relatives in Woodbridge several times a year and this excellent pub is at the bottom of the hill where they live. A great place for a good pint of Adnams (and guest beers), lovely food and a chat with the bar staff and customers. Genuine friendliness shown by the staff; log fires in winter, quiz night every Thursday and entertainment on Friday. Highly recommended.
