The Mucky Pup, Angel, Islington

I quite like this place. A small understated pub hidden round the corner from Essex Road in a nice area, there is rarely more than 5 people in it and I dont understand why. Furniture's a bit tatty in places but generally pleasant decor, the lager tastes good (usual islington price tag), staff are friendly and genuine. Best of all there is a first-class pool table in the room at the back (Im not joking, probably the best quality pub table I've played on in a long time) and there's never anyone on it! The jukebox is free and is packed full of decent rock/folk stuff like pink floyd, johnny cash, the smiths, led zeppelin etc etc. Great pub to retreat to for an un-disturbed game of pool!

p.s. also was a massive dog there one time, dont know if that has something to do with the name. It seems to have one awards for being a dog-friendly pub!
