The Queen Adelaide, Wandsworth
Reviews below are a load of rubbish - when we first moved to the area about seven years ago this pub was quiet, empty, dirty and the Cats Back and Hop Pole were signicantly better, so we never bothered to travel the extra 2 minutes walk. Now it has one of the best beer gardens in the area (plus an excellent smoking solution for those interested), the staff have never been anything but polite, the food is very good (hence the multiple return visits), the quiz night on Mondays was good fun, the occassional live music has been brilliant. RIP? This pub has never been better or busier.

What a pub. We took 25 people there for a Christmas Meal and it was absolutely fantastic. I am only just writing this now as we are taking the same group, plus more, for a birthday party there soon. The food was superb and reasonably priced. The manager and chef were very accomodating with our requirements, and the staff who served us were very attentive, polite and friendly. What more could you ask for?Better value for money, less pretentious and better atmosphere than the over rated Ship across the river. This pub is one of the best in the area - worth travelling for.

The Hop Pole, Wandsworth
Great local boozer, cracking jukebox, TV screen in the garden, Thai franchise very reasonably priced and very good quality. Also good roast and other 'normal' pub food available. Superb venue for any live sport esp anything involving the Irish. A world apart from the Wheatsheaf, and with the Cats Back and Queen Adelaide so close it definitely makes the trip worthwhile (although you might find it hard to tear yourself away from this one once settled). Bring back the Elvis Nights.
