This pub is part of the same chain as the Kings Arms round the corner next to the Grapes. Please please dont go out of your way to go to these pubs. The buildings are lovely but the food is microwaved and the worst I have tased for a very long time. I asked the staff to recommend a good local ale/beer and she sarted to tell me the beer and largers that she had. Our food was dumped down - dry - all of it - plastic left in it..the waitress ran off even though we were THE ONLY PEOPLE EATING and my boyfried asked for mayonaise. None arrived until he had waited then decided to finish his dry chicken burger. The waitress apologied BUT SHE WENT onto say" You didnt mention when I put food down soooo" We hadnt said a word about the mayonsise it was obviuos whole place is dire so when she then tried to say it was our fault my boyrfiedn didnt get his mayonaise really riled me. Dreadful - please dont eat here - I wish I had gone to cafe or sandwhich shop - at least fresh!
We were lucky though at least they could use the microwave quickly in The Shepards Tavern, we initially went to the Kings Arms where it was packed but people were clamouring at the bar saying they had waited over 2 hours YES TWO HOURS for one course to arrive! ( MYabe the microave there had blown a fuse!).
Lovely buildings both of them but please vote with feet and say NO to this chain that has destryoed two lovely pubs.

Kings Arms, Cookham
This pub is part of a crappy chain. Its called In and OUt which I think is a cover for the old beefeater. The problem with lower end chains like this is - no one cares about them....there is no one to nuture them and things get tatty and of course being a chain you will only ever get chain food.
This pub used to be a thriving - busy place individually owned - this was in the time that tThe Crown was also excellent - the Royal Exchange was great as was the Ferry.
Now cookham is in Chain dom and I for one like charactful indiviual pubs and I do not reccomend eating or drinking at the Kings Arms/
