The Dispensary, Liverpool

Interesting end to an evening in the Dispensary, 4 of us from 6 pm through to 8.30pm four very nice beers each, one of us goes to the toilet as we prepare to leave chatting 3-4 mins tops and the very rude serving person tells us in no uncertain terms to buy drinks or leave and orders us out, probably not too much wrong here? But we were preparing to leave discussing taxi or train etc. In my 16 years in Liverpool I have seen nothing like this level of rudeness! The landlord earlier and two younger barstaff were excellent but the behaviour of the elderly bar lady with dyed red hair left a very poor after taste to the whole evening.... The pub is one where I rate the beer and experience and have regularly over the years spend long evenings... But if that is the experience they wish to create ejecting the only lady customer present in the establishment, a new comer to these shores, a camra member and a city resident of 15 years (admittedly lacking the accent) with the bigoted expletives 'local wanting locals and drinkers' after we had put custom their way that evening for several hours beggars belief.....
