Looking at the last review I would suggest you will find most pubs at 10pm pretty quiet that far away from the main streets. At the weekened it is like the City of London and there is no point in opening with next to no custom. As to New Years Eve. It used to open but the cost of extra security etc made it not worthwhile. As to the comment about the Landlord, he is both friendly and odd!
I have been using the pub for maybe as long as the landlord has been there, the beer is excelent and you always find a couple of guest beers on
