Great place to eat at very reasonable prices.Really nice atmosphere with friendly helpful staff.
Avoid the other pub in the area..The Merry Monk..

The Merry Monk, Monkton Heathfield

Went in as advertised as Under new Management'.Avoid like the plague.Pint of Becks and a tonic spritzer was �11.75....yes �11.75.My wife asked for extrs tonic as they only serve tiny bottles at �1.80 each..so 3@ �1.80 is �5.40..absolutely scandalous.
I went for a safe steak as specials board was n/a on several items.My wife had a prawn salad which would have been better presented by my 7 year old granddaughter,even the waitress agreed that it was awful..never again
